When it is warm, the couple often goes out to the desert in California, Nevada and Arizona and search for snakes. Last year they were in the wild for 150 days and caught about 100 snakes. They keep some of them as pets and sold several. More often they release the snakes back to the wild after taking pictures of them. “I just want to look at them,” he said.

Zack believes snakes are more lovable than people.

“With snakes, you don’t have to worry about keeping them happy or saying things that may offend them. You don’t have to act cool around them. All they care is being fed and warm.”

Would his life be different without the snakes?

“I would have spent more time learning photography – snake photography. I would study harder. I should,” Zack confessed. He hopes to go back to college next year. If he returns to school, he will change his major to study biology, particularly snakes in the wild and snake photography.
